Emi Solvik is a London-based illustrator and children’s writer with Scandinavian roots. Growing up, she was inspired by the dark enchantment of the Brothers Grimm and the nature-filled picture books of Elsa Beskow, influences that continue to shape her love of curious creatures, changing seasons and gentle magic. Combining traditional painting with digital techniques, Emi creates richly textured illustrations filled with warm light, woodland detail and a quiet sense of wonder. She is the creator of Moonwood Folk, an expanding storybook world inhabited by small creatures, wandering spirits and unlikely adventurers. Now living in London, Emi finds inspiration in old bookshops, overgrown gardens and the fragments of wilderness hidden between the city’s streets.
